About Us

Who We Are

Most of my life I struggled with drugs and alcohol, which led me down a very dark path with no shortage of trouble. Addiction had its claws in my entire family, my father and my siblings all suffered from the same illness. I lived most of my life as a slave to it without hope and without knowing a better way. When I finally found my path to recovery it was as if the light came on, I had a newfound purpose, I had hope for the first time, I develop a relationship with the God of my understanding and found freedom. Since that day my life has become exceedingly and abundantly greater than anything I could’ve ever hoped or asked for. I Met the woman of my dreams, my wife Stephanie who has also been rescued by the message of recovery, I have four beautiful children and a thriving business. None of this would have been possible if it were not for the power and freedom that I found. Anybody who makes their way out of addiction and finds a new way of life knows that it is too powerful to keep to yourself. We opened safe haven sober living as a way of giving back what was so freely given to us. My hope is that many people will find a new way of life and have a better chance at recovery and becoming who they were meant to be.

When it comes to recovering from substance abuse, those who choose to embark on the journey into a substance free way of life may often be presented with many difficulties and challenges. People, places, and things can be the difference between life and death. Finding a place to live that’s in good condition, and in a good area with people who are drug-free and trying to better their lives, is much harder than it sounds. Because addiction often leaves a trail of disaster in the life of the individual it can be difficult to find quality housing that will set them up for long-term success.

As someone who has taken the journey into recovery Myself, I know how hard it can be to stay the course. I should not be alive today but by the grace of God. And the gift of recovery, I am here today. Safe haven sober living provides transitional recovery housing in the Longwood, Florida area. Testimonials

I have been the house manager here from the inception, I remember when I was asked to do this, my first question was, why would I want to do this, I had been sober for awhile and life was good. I almost turned it down. Until Shelby (the owner)said that God was leading him to do this. I knew I was being lead as well. I was in. My experience here has been an amazing gift. I have seen incredible growth in all the guys here as well as myself. The peace, serenity, and brotherhood, it’s a ” family “. We have all seen struggles here. But through God,faith and willingness, we all seem to land on our feet. Thank you for the miracle.

I had struggled with Alcohol for MANY years. I even had 3+ years sober before but was missing contentment and peace. An old friend ( Shelby ) had a post about the house and my Mom told me. With the Christian values and growth I’ve seen in Shelby I let God lead me there. I was broken and found Friendship, Support and Love through the brotherhood that is instilled in the house. Tony ( House Manager ) Has become a true friend and is always there when you need him. Thank you Shelby for giving an environment that I have truly found Inner peace, A strong relationship with God, Repaired friendships with friends and family. God has removed my obsession for Alcohol. Amen and Thank you

Coming out of rehab was a scary experience. Not knowing where I was going, who I would meet or what I would do. I heard of Safe Haven and setup an interview. After meeting with the house manager and speaking to the owner I immediately felt better about the decisions I was making. I felt welcomed and like I belonged. The gym and the pool keep me active and my mind busy when I’m not working. The house is clean always and I get along great with everyone here. If you’re serious about recovery this is the place for you. Been here a little over 7 months and I’m very happy with my choice.
